Realising the vast potential of the United Arab Emirates as a future global commercial hub, Mr. Ghanem Saeed Mattar Al Suwaidi embarked on an ambitious program of expansion addding several companies to the group he led over the years.

Looking back...
Few dreamed in 1968 that the Arab Emirates would evolve into today’s majot global commercial hub. Still fewer dared venture into business there.

Among the select few with the vision and courage to do both then was our Chairman, Mr. Ghanem Saeed Mattar Al Suwaidi. Recognising the potential of the region, he founded his first company in 1968. Thereafter, other successful companies were established over the years.

From such humble beginnings, the flourishing companies of the group are today profitably engaged in such productive activities as the import and leasing of construction equipment, trading in crude and petroleum products, bunkering, freight and maritime services, real estate and general trading.

An ongoing drive to provide customers the very best products and services through dynamic management policies characterize all these activities. And the reason behind the reputation and presence in the markets we enjoy today. Twin assets we are committed to maintaining and upgrading continuously.

Gulf Energy Limited was founded as a limited liability company in 1990 by Amiri decree No. sh/10/90. The chief objective of the new Sharjah-based company was to trade in petroleum products, provide bunkering services and supply fuel to the UAE market.

Supplying fuel to major sectors of the national economy. Gulf Energy Limited has played a significant supporting role in the ongoing development of the Emirates. The company enjoys a presence in local markets and is engaged in considerable activity in the region.

Today, Gulf Energy Limited supplies customers in the GCC and as far away as East Africa and the Indian Ocean rim. Over the years, the scope of the company’s operations has grown from trading in petroleum products to several other related enterprises.
