IRSHAD MARINE FLEET

New Building Project
IRSHAD is currently engaged in a fleet replacement and new ship building project to replace some of its aging vessels and supplement its existing fleet with modern and purpose built marine craft. In the beginning of 2006, IRSHAD signed contracts with Grandweld Marine Services in Dubai to build and deliver 3 water jet pilot boats. These 21 meter high speed pilot boats will be built based on a top notch proven design provided by Camarc U.K.; the first of which is completing in December 2006.
In August 2006 IRSHAD signed another contract with Grandweld for building and delivering 4 tail back tugs to replace its existing line boats.
Final preparations are now being made to award the contracts for building 3 new Azimuth Stern Driven (ASD) escort tugs.
ASD tugs are now being introduced in IRSHAD for their proven superiority over the conventional tugs owed to the design of their shapes and propulsion system that enables the tug to produce almost equivalent power in all directions and rapidly change the force of its pull or push.
Existing Fleet
IRSHAD owns and operates a fleet of 32 marine vessels of different sizes, powers and capabilities made up of:
- Sixteen push/pull fire-fighting tugs; five of which are equipped with diving support and anchor handling capabilities.
- One maintenance and dive support vessel equipped to serve the various loading terminals, sub-sea pipeline and wellhead jackets with diving support facilities and a 100 ton hydraulic crane.
- Ten line and mooring boats for berthing and unberthing operations.
- Four pilot boats
- One self propelled maintenance barge with a 20 ton hydraulic crane for general offshore maintenance.
The above fleet is maintained to the highest standards by a team of professional marine engineers supervised by a highly qualified technical staff and assisted by two marine workshops in Ruwais and Das ports.
International Standards and IRSHAD Quality Management Systems
IRSHAD, being in the maritime business was certified in the year 2000 under the International Safety Management code (ISM). Each of its vessels above 300 GT is issued with an individual Safety Management Certificate to confirm its compliance with the international marine standard. The certification is maintained by periodical internal and external audits by Lloyds Register.

In November 2004, the Company Quality Management System was certified under ISO-9001:2000; the standard is maintained by periodical internal and external audits conducted by Lloyds Register Quality.
