Aggreko is the world leader in the supply of temporary power and temperature control services and is one of the top 200 publicly listed companies in the United Kingdom.

Aggreko was established in 1962 as a generator rental company serving the oil and gas market in the North Sea. Since then we have expanded our power generation services to deliver comprehensive power generation packages, from the specification and design of the system to installation and full operation of the equipment. Our dedicated fleet of power generation and temperature control equipment is supported by over 2,500 highly skilled and experienced staff in over 1,200 permanent locations world-wide. Aggreko offers the highest levels of performance and customer service and is truly a global force in temporary power generation. In addition we now offer a range of temperature control services, providing air conditioning and chilled process water for industrial and commercial applications.

Unlike other companies operating in this market, Aggreko focus solely on providing complete power solutions and have developed the skills and experience to handle the power demands of all industries including the oil and gas sector. With annual revenues in excess of GBP £540 million, and growing, Aggreko has a policy of continuous investment in new equipment, service and maintenance facilities and, most importantly, in the development of its people. Within the industry, Aggreko is highly respected as a responsive and dynamic provider of flexible power solutions with the experience to satisfy even the most demanding power needs.

AGGREKO IN THE MIDDLE EAST
Since the establishment of our first regional presence in Sharjah in 1991, our business has flourished and we have grown our operations to become the regional leader in the supply of power generation and temperature control services.

From our headquarters in Jebel Ali, Dubai, Aggreko serves the Middle East region through a network of 9 permanent locations in 6 countries. In addition our dedicated business unit, Aggreko International Power Projects (AIPP) has been formed specifically to handle multi megawatt temporary power projects. Based in the Middle East, AIPP manages the world’s most extensive rental fleet of containerized generators, loadbanks, transformers and ancillary equipment. This impressive capability allows us to mobilize our equipment very rapidly in response to our customers planned or emergency power needs.

AGGREKO PRODUCTS & SERVICES
Our fleet of equipment includes a full range of diesel and gas generators, transformers, loadbanks and ancillary equipment. We also supply fluid chillers for industrial processes and air conditioning equipment for major commercial or industrial applications.

Aggreko International Power Projects provides a complete power generation service. Our services include project management, system design, installation and commissioning plus full operation and maintenance if required. The modular design of our equipment allows flexible power stations to be tailored to suit every power need. Our equipment can be installed and commissioned very quickly without the need for expensive site preparations.

Aggreko diesel generators are designed and manufactured at our own ISO 9001 accredited manufacturing facility in the UK. We can supply generators from 30 kVA to 1250 kVA in single units. For larger power demands generators can be connected in parallel to create multi megawatt power packages. Our equipment is housed in ISO standard containers for easy and rapid transportation by land, sea or air. Aggreko generators are capable of load sharing and automatic synchronization with the utility grid. High voltage transformers are available to operate at any voltage, for either 50 or 60 cycle duties.

To complete the package, we can supply a full range of associated equipment including transformers, cable, switchgear, distribution equipment and fuel tanks.

Aggreko also offers a range of resistive and reactive loadbanks which can be used to ensure your power generation equipment operates to specification. Our loadbanks are AC and DC compatible and can be utilized for testing steam and gas turbines, UPS systems, standby generator sets, combined heat and power plants and transformers.

As summer temperatures rise many industrial processes become less efficient or product quality deteriorates. To overcome these problems Aggreko offers a range of temperature control equipment especially designed for rental applications. Our industrial air conditioning units can be used to maintain temperatures for critical processes or to provide comfortable temperatures in the workplace.

To serve the needs of petrochemical processing industries we also offer a range of fluid chillers, heat exchangers and cooling towers. Applications can range from dehumidification or forced cooling of process vessels to providing cooling water at a consistent temperature for sophisticated industrial processes.

CUSTOMERS & MARKETS
There are number of areas where temporary power systems can deliver a major impact on project profitability for the Oil & Gas industry.

In today’s market there is enormous commercial pressure to produce oil at the earliest opportunity to improve project cash flow and project profitability. To facilitate this, the conversion of existing vessels and refurbishment of early production facilities is on the increase. Temporary power systems are well suited to powering these applications – both during the fabrication and refurbishment phase as well as to provide power for the facility when in operation. Typical applications for early production include power for surface facilities, down hole pumps and water injection units amongst many others.

Temporary power systems should also be considered by those who wish to rapidly increase their current production rates but are unable to do so due to the long lead times on new power
generation plant.

Oil & gas projects can encounter a number of commercial obstacles in their early stages and large capital expenditure commitments for power generation equipment at the start of a project do not help. Additionally, the size of the power plant is often speculative and dependent of the expected production of the field. Frequently, the delivery and installation of the power plant can often dictate the speed at which the project is brought on stream.

Planned, temporary power, removes the risk of delays due to the late delivery of power generators or through commissioning problems once the plant is installed. Aggreko provides temporary power systems operated and maintained by our own, fully trained and certified personnel giving dependable, consistent power supply from day one.

Over sizing the power plant at the outset of a project can be a costly, but necessary, requirement to ensure sufficient power is available for full production capacity. As an alternative, the use of cost effective temporary systems allows you to upsize or downsize your power plant as the project requires.

It is common place to sink capital into power generation plant during the construction phase. At the end of the project, this equipment has little value and may even create back-end costs and complications when liquidating these assets.

Additionally, import duties assessed on equipment of a non-temporary nature that is not or cannot be re-exported affect the bottom line.

Finally, whilst main power plant failures are avoidable, scheduled equipment maintenance is not. Temporary power systems are the ideal solution for maintaining production or restoring critical services in the event of failure of the permanent plant or during planned maintenance shutdowns.

From the North Sea to Central Africa, the Middle East and Asia, Aggreko have a proven track record of successful oil and gas installations both offshore and onshore.
