Hydraulic Workover / Snubbing Services

Our hydraulic workover rigs and rig assist units work safety against wellbore pressure, providing the most flexible means of repairing, re-entering and completing a well without having to kill it by using overbalanced fluids that can damage sensitive formations, particularly important in the prolific shale and carbonate areas.

Re-entry technologies provide opportunities to use existing wellbores to access untapped reservoirs. Technologies such as measurement-while-drilling and geo-steering, when combined with our HWO/snubbing technologies, have made re-entry an attractive option in recovering oil and gas at low costs. Boots & Coots’ hydraulic units are also ideal for deepening and drilling slimhole wells at lower costs compared to conventional drilling rigs or coiled tubing units. In many applications, HWO/Snubbing technology offers advantages over coiled tubing, including the capability to drill high angle, long-reach horizontal wells using conventional tubular combined with the ability to rotate pipe while drilling, thus lowering torque and drag. Down hole motors can also be used in this drilling combination.

We fabricate much of our own equipment resulting in a faster, safer, more economical and fit for purpose workover or snubbing process. Our stand-alone units are modular and moveable by truck or a single boat load, and can be hoisted by existing cranes in offshore environments. Our truck mounted rig assist units provide quick and easy rig-ups.

Engineering Services
Experience with deep, high pressure, high temperature wells on land and offshore is the strength of our engineering group. Our pre-event engineering services include consultation, well planning, dynamic kill modeling and intervention planning. We specialize in the planning and design relief well drilling and production facilites which are susceptible to well capping or other control procedures. We offer on-site inspection services as well as training in well control procedures that include competency programs, blowout drills and evaluations, as well as incident command training.

Well Control Services

Our top specialists have been in the business for over 30 years, so when it comes to a critical well event such as an oil or gas well fire, blowout or other loss of control of the well, we are equipped to mobilize quickly and take care of everything from start to finish.

Initial response time is critical. Identifying hot zones and evacuation plans and interacting with regulatory agencies are all handled; all with single-source efficiency and economy. We have operations strategically located around the world, with alliances in Canada and Australia, allowing us to quickly mobilize equipment and personnel to the well site. Our well response models determine the optimum method of killing the well, complete with blueprints for pumping, handling and storage systems.

Our well control services cover both critical and non-critical events, such as hurricane damage or issues that could lead to a critical event, both on and off shore.
