ROPED ACCESS SERVICES INTRODUCTION
Maximising productivity, controlling costs, improving quality, enhancing flexibility and prioritising safety. These are the demands being placed on engineers, architects, contractors and facilities managers alike.

These challenges are the mechanism which drives innovation. Technically competent and driven by quality, CAN is one of the organisations born of the need for change.

All of Can’s multi-skilled workforce - engineers, technicians, tradesmen - are able to abseil and climb. Supported by experience project engineers, continuous in-house development of lightweight access platforms and specially adapted plant and equipment, CAN’s rope technicians provide a competitive solution for work at height.

Consider the benefits. Quick to install and unobtrusive, rope systems minimise disruption at ground level - enhancing site flexibility and miximising overall site productivity. CAN’s rope teams offer a single source supply - combining both access and contracting. Single source means less administration, easier site coordination and, consequently, controlled cost.

CAN has worked on many of the world’s most tightly quality controlled and safety managed projects - from Sizewell B, and the Second Severn Crossing in Britain, to the Aerogare Charles de Gaulle in France and Hong Kong’s Tsing Ma Bridge. For each project, CAN’s engineers prepare clear and concise method statemens, risk assessments and safety audits. Health and Safety policies and safe working procedure are in accordance with CDM regulations. All work is undertaken in compliance with documentation quality procedure which meet the requirments of BS EN ISO 9002.

Do you want to control cost and improve operational fexibility? Are you genuinely concerned about quality and safety?

To gain a competitive advantage, call CAN - Specialist Access Solutions today.

NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING
Engineers responsible for structure as varied as bridges, petrochemical plants and manufacturing works rely on data collected using non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.

CAN is frequently able to reduce the cost and time spent on NDT work. We achieve this by employing qualified inspectors who also possess the ability to use industrial roped access techniques.

Rope systems, often used in conjunction with the CAN-span lightweight work platform, avoid the disruption at the ground level associated with scaffolding and hydraulic platforms. Furthermore, being quick to install and dismantle, rope methods are ideally suited for emergency or shutdown works when NDT activities may be widely spread across a site.

Economic benefits are enhanced by offering a single source solution - access and NDT. Single source solution means less adminstration, easier site coordination and controlled costs.

In addition to established methodologies such as dye penetrant and magnetic particle inspection (MPI), CAN has pioneered the use of state-of-the-art eddy current and ultrasonic techiniques. A primary benefits of our modern equipment such as computerised thickness gauging, ANDSCAN ultrasonics and ACFM crack microgauging is that data can be recorded onto disk for further analysis away from the test site.

ROPE ACCESS SERVICES
For areas where inspection is required in high or difficult access locations, CAN (Inspection) offers rope access as an alternative to expensive staging or scaffolding.

A wide variety of inspection tasks can be undertakin by CAN’s rope teams who have had special training in rope access techniques in addition to their inspection skills.

No compromise is made to the quality or qualification of the man on the rope. The result is very flexible, efficient and cost effective service for workforce which would traditionally have access cost as a significant proportion of the budget. Our services causes the minimum of disruption and means our multi-disciplined inspectors are able to access almost any location by abseil, ascent or traverse.

Most large structure form oil platforms to offices or tower blocks can be accessed. Other examples include bridges, dams, chimneys, vent stacks, communication towers, storage tanks, pressure vessels and processing plant.
